(WOLO) — A little rain couldn’t keep two Midlands high school baseball teams from state championships Wednesday night. Just before midnight, A.C. Flora finished off Fort Mill 13-6 for the Class AAA State Championship on the road. The Falcons jumped out to a big lead early in the game and sat on an 11-4 3rd inning lead during a lengthy delay for bad weather. Gilbert also dealt with a rain delay in game two of its Class AA State Championship series against Hanahan. Connor Owings’ strikeout gave the Indians a 3-2 win and clinched Gilbert’s third title in the last six years.
