A majority of the Supreme Court signaled Monday they would allow abortion providers to pursue a court challenge to a Texas law that has virtually ended abortion in the nation’s second-largest state after six weeks of pregnancy.
About 200 city, county and other local elections are scheduled for Tuesday, according to the South Carolina Election Commission. The highest profile race is in Columbia, where Mayor Steve Benjamin decided not to run for a fourth term in the state’s capital and second-largest city amid his growing political profile.
Atlanta still leads the best-of-seven series 3-2, can still wrap it up with one more win, but the teams are heading back to Texas for the final one or two games that will be needed to settle things.
