In typical heart pounding fashion, the Newberry College Wolves thwarted Carson-Newman on the last play of the game to win the 2025 South Atlantic Conference Championship and secure a bid to the 2025 NCAA Division 2 playoffs 28-21 before a sold-out crowd at Setzler Field.
The #24 ranked Newberry College Wolves forced three turnovers and rallied from a 21-7 first half deficit to win their fifth consecutive game defeating Emory & Henry 36-34 at Setzler Field to remain in first place in the South Atlantic Conference.
Jonah Norris scored the game winning touchdown on a one-yard run with 1:37 left, as Newberry College won its third consecutive game in the last two minutes.
The Newberry College Wolves opened the 2024 South Atlantic Conference schedule with a 50-20 victory at Tusculum.
