COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The idea of nullification is finding new life at the Statehouse. Several bills filed over the past few years would allow the state to ignore federal laws on gun control and mint its own currency. Hundreds attended a rally on opening day of the legislature supporting a bill to declare the new health care law supported by the president illegal in South Carolina. The bills haven’t gotten much traction.
