Loftis beats newcomer for 2nd term as SC treasurer

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) _ South Carolina Treasurer Curtis Loftis has won the Republican primary against political newcomer Brian Adams.
Early results show Loftis winning Tuesday with 62 percent of the vote. The outcome means he wins a second term as South Carolina’s chief financial officer. As in 2010, no Democrat or third-party candidate is running.

Dickerson wins Dem primary, to face Scott in Nov.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Richland County Council member Joyce Dickerson has won South Carolina’s Democratic primary to face U.S. Sen. Tim Scott.
Early returns showed the 68-year-old Dickerson winning Tuesday’s primary with 67 percent of the vote over former York County Council member Sidney Moore and Myrtle Beach attorney Harry Pavilack.
