Watson Earns National Weekly Honor

Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson was named the recipient of the Capital One Impact Performance of the Week award by ESPN on Thursday. It is the second major national player of the week award for Watson this week. On Sunday he was named National Player of the Week by the Walter Camp Foundation.

USC Women Ready To Tip Off Season

No. 2/2 South Carolina takes the court at Colonial Life Arena for the first time in the 2015-16 season Friday night in an exhibition game against Newberry College. The Gamecocks bring a veteran team back from last season’s NCAA Final Four appearance, led by three of ESPN’s top 12 players in the nation in junior center Alaina Coates, senior guard Tiffany Mitchell and sophomore forward A’ja Wilson.

Lawson A Semifinalist For Lombardi Award

Clemson defensive end Shaq Lawson has been named one of 12 semifinalists for the Lombardi Award. The Lombardi Award is presented each year to the top lineman or inside linebacker in college football. This is the second consecutive year Clemson has had someone in the semifinals for the award. Vic Beasley was a finalist last year.

Mangus Expects More Playing Time For Nuñez

USC offensive coordinator G.A. Mangus expects to have a healthier Lorenzo Nuñez available moving forward. “He can do a lot of things,” Mangus said of his freshman quarterback. “He’s a really good athlete. He’s going to play more and more now that he’s getting back healthy. He’s getting a lot of reps at quarterback this week.”
