Wilson Leads Team USA In Another Route

South Carolina forward A’ja Wilson turned in another strong performance at the FIBA U19 World Championships on Wednesday, tallying a team-high 18 points to lead USA Basketball past Argentina, 89-39. With the victory, head coach Dawn Staley and the Americans advanced to Friday’s quarterfinals against Canada.

Tigers Top ACC Kickoff Preseason Polls

Clemson was chosen as the preseason favorite to win the 2015 ACC Football Championship, according to a vote of the league media Tuesday at the conference’s annual preseason media event at Pinehurst Resort. The Tigers were picked first on 84 ballots, followed by Florida State (41) and Georgia Tech (20). In addition, sophomore quarterback Deshaun Watson was voted ACC Preseason Player of the Year.

Zach Johnson Wins British Open

Zach Johnson wins the British Open in 4-hole playoff over Oosthuizen and Leishman.

Johnson edged Oosthuizen by a stroke when the South African missed a 12-footer birdie putt at the 18th hole. Leishman finished three shots back Monday evening.

Coates Helps USA Get To Gold Medal Game

South Carolina center Alaina Coates recorded her second straight double-double, tallying 10 points and a game-high 15 rebounds for USA Basketball, which edged Cuba, 66-65, in the semifinals of the 2015 Pan Am Games on Sunday. With the victory, the Americans advanced to Monday’s Gold Medal game against Canada.
