Troyer Earns Conference USA Honors

Gamecock Braeden Troyer earned the Conference USA Men’s Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year award on Thursday by commissioner Britton Banowsky. Troyer stands with 16 other honorees and is the only one from an affiliate member school.

Adams Makes Mackey Award Watch List

The preseason watch list for the 2015 John Mackey Award was released Wednesday morning, with senior Jerell Adams making the grade. He is one of 33 athletes to be included on the list, and joins Pharoh Cooper (Hornung, Maxwell) as Gamecocks who have been recognized already for national awards.

Tiger Tight End Leggett Makes Watch List

Clemson tight end Jordan Leggett is one of seven tight ends on the John Mackey Award Watch List announced on Wednesday. The award goes to the top tight end in college football. Clemson’s Dwayne Allen won the honor at the conclusion of the 2011 season. He is now in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts.

Colonial Life Arena Keeps Name Through 2025

Colonial Life and the University of South Carolina have agreed to extend the Colonial Life Arena naming rights sponsorship for another 10 years. The renewed agreement, which runs Oct. 1, 2015 through Sept. 30, 2025, was announced at a news conference at noon today at the Arena.

Monte Lee Finalizes Staff at Clemson

Head coach Monte Lee added four assistants to his staff, announced Tuesday. Lee, who was named head coach on June 18, retained Bradley LeCroy as recruiting coordinator. Lee also named Andrew See as pitching coach, Greg Starbuck as volunteer assistant and retained Brad Owens as director of baseball operations.
