FSU Edges Charleston 3-2

Quincy Nieporte’s solo home run in the bottom of the eighth broke a 2-2 tie as top-seeded Florida State (43-19) held on to defeat second-seeded College of Charleston (44-14) 3-2 to advance to Sunday’s championship final of the 2015 NCAA Tallahassee Regional.

Arizona St. Tops Tigers 7-4

Joey Bielek’s two-run homer in the seventh inning gave No. 18 Arizona State the lead for good in its 7-4 win over Clemson in the opening game of the Fullerton Regional at Goodwin Field on Friday afternoon. The Sun Devils, who moved into the winners’ bracket, improved to 35-21 on the season. The Tigers, who fell into the losers’ bracket, dropped to 32-28 in 2015.

Clemson Golf 27th After NCAA Day One

Clemson sophomore Austin Langdale fired an even par 72 to lead Clemson to a 306 team score during the first round of the NCAA National Tournament at the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla. Clemson is in 27th place out of 30 teams after the first day with the 18 over team score.

SEC Rakes In Record Revenue

Thanks to the successful debut of the SEC Network, the conference generated an NCAA-record $455.8 million in revenue in 2014-15. The league’s revenue was $309.6 million last year.

SEC Adopts New Transfer Misconduct Rule

The Southeastern Conference has adopted a rule prohibiting its schools from enrolling student-athletes with “serious misconduct” issues at previous colleges.

The league defined serious misconduct as “sexual assault, domestic violence or other forms of sexual violence.”
