The Tigers, who took a 1-0 lead in the series, improved to 29-25 overall and 14-13 in the ACC. The Seminoles fell to 37-17 overall and 17-11 in ACC play. With the victory, Clemson clinched its spot in the ACC Tournament, which will be held next week at Durham (N.C.) Bulls Athletic Park.
Due to severe weather in the forecast for Friday, the starting times for the first two games of the 2015 NCAA Tournament – Tallahassee Regional will be moved up six-and-a-half hours.
Billy Kennerly fired a five-under-par 67 on Thursday, the second best round in the field of 75 golfers, to lead Clemson to a 284 team score and a tie for third place after the first round of the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional. The top five teams in the 13-team field after Saturday’s third round will advance to the NCAA Championship in Bradenton, Fla on May 29.
South Carolina (31-22, 12-15 SEC) closes out the SEC regular season with a three-game series vs. top ranked LSU (44-8, 19-7 SEC). Thursday’s first pitch is at 7 p.m. on the SEC Network. Friday’s game is at 8 p.m. ET on ESPNU. The series finale is slated for Saturday at 8 p.m. on the SEC Network.
