Benedict Coach Buys Minor League Team

SLYSPORTS LLC, headed by MLB veteran and current Benedict College head baseball coach Selwyn Young, has purchased the Ellensburg Bulls, an independent minor league franchise based in Washington state . Selwyn’s brother, Delwyn, will be the hitting coach and Jim Hayes will manage the club.

Beasley Attending NFL Draft In Chicago

Clemson defensive end Vic Beasley will be one of 28 prospects at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago on Thursday evening as the National Football League begins its annual draft of college players at 8:00 p.m. Beasley is one of many former Tiger football players who could be selected over the three days of the draft.

Powell Leads NGU To First Championship

The North Greenville Baseball Team made program history on Monday afternoon, knocking off Pfeiffer University 10-4 to earn the program’s first ever Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship.
Former Gamecock Landon Powell is NGU’s first-year head coach. Last year the Crusaders won just eight games.

USC Women’s Golf Gets #1 NCAA Seed

The South Carolina women’s golf team earned the No. 1 seed in the NCAA East Regional set for Raleigh, N.C., May 7-9. The 54-hole event will be held at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course. The field of 74 teams spread among four regional sites was announced on the Golf Channel Monday evening.
