Clemson Names Co-Offensive Coordinators

Clemson Head Coach Dabo Swinney announced today that Tony Elliott and Jeff Scott will serve as co-Offensive Coordinators on his staff starting immediately. Chad Morris, Clemson’s offensive coordinator the last four seasons, was announced Monday as the head coach at SMU.

Newberry Hoops Cracks Top 25 For First Time

D2SIDA has released its National Poll for the week beginning December 2, 2014 and the Newberry College men’s basketball team currently sits No. 22 in the poll. Since the Wolves’ inception into Division II during the 1991-92 season, this is the first time the men’s basketball program has made an appearance into a Top 25 poll.

McCorvey To Receive AFCA Award

Woody McCorvey, a widely recognized assistant coach, is this year’s recipient of the AFCA Outstanding Achievement Award. The AFCA Board of Trustees created the Outstanding Achievement Award in order to recognize AFCA members, past and present, who have achieved outstanding success while coaching football.

Notice Leads USC Over Marshall 77-59

In its first true road test of the season, the South Carolina men’s basketball team (4-3) passed the test on both ends of the floor in a 77-59 win over Marshall (3-4). Bolstered by a career-high 27 points from Duane Notice and a 41-20 advantage in points in the paint, the team led for nearly the entire game.

USC Women Whip NC Central 90-26

Behind a balanced scoring attack with five players in double figures, No. 1/2 South Carolina collected a 90-26 win over North Carolina Central on Monday night at Colonial Life Arena. Freshman A’ja Wilson led all scorers with 16 points off the bench while also pulling down a game-high eight rebounds for the Gamecocks (6-0). Tiffany Mitchell collected seven steals and Khadijah Sessions doled out eight assists, both career highs.
