Carolina Collapses Again, Vols Win 45-42

Joshua Dobbs threw a 9-yard pass to Jason Croom with 11 seconds left to tie the game at 42 before Aaron Medley’s 32-yard field goal in overtime lifted Tennessee to its first Southeastern Conference win 45-42 over South Carolina on Saturday night.

Albany St. Blasts Benedict 40-14

Albany State running back Jarvis Small rushed for 234 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Golden Rams to a 40-14 victory over the Benedict Tigers on a cold and windy Saturday at Charlie W. Johnson Stadium.

Newberry Blows Out Brevard 34-14

A stout defense and potent rushing attack helped the Newberry College Wolves’ football team overcome a sloppy start and cruise to a 34-14 victory over the Brevard College Tornados at Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

Newberry scored five touchdowns without response after conceding an early score, rolling its record to 4-5 overall and 2-4 in South Atlantic Conference action with the win. Brevard is now 0-9 overall and 0-6 in league action.

PC Loses To Liberty 28-7

The Presbyterian College football team dropped its Saturday Senior Day home finale against the visiting Liberty Flames, falling short as the Flames took a road win, 28-7.

The loss moves PC to 5-4 on the year and 2-2 in the Big South. The Blue Hose will head to Ole Miss next for a Saturday game in Oxford, Miss. at noon Eastern on the SEC Network. Liberty improves to 6-3, 2-0 in the Big South and hosts Monmouth next week at 3:30 p.m.
