PC Beats Monmouth 18-12

Down by two points with 4:19 to go in its Saturday Homecoming game against Monmouth, quarterback Heys McMath (Savannah, Ga.) and the Presbyterian College football team mounted a game-winning touchdown drive to knock off the Monmouth Hawks in the final minute for a dramatic Big South Conference victory, 18-12.

Citadel Topped By W. Carolina 29-15

Troy Mitchell threw for a touchdown and Detrez Newsome ran for two more Saturday and Western Carolina beat The Citadel 29-15.

Darius Ramsey’s 20-yard TD run in the fourth quarter put the game out of reach for the Catamounts (6-2, 4-0 Southern).

Wofford Rolls Over VMI

Lorenzo Long ran for 125 yards and a pair of touchdowns as Wofford slammed the Virginia Military Institute 38-3 on Saturday.

Octavius Harden added 100 yards while Chris Martin and former Chapin High School quarterback Michael Weimer each ran for a score as the Terriers (5-3, 3-1 Southern) racked up 374 rushing yards. Weimer also threw for 85 yards and a touchdown.

USC Freshman Guard Out With Hip Injury

University of South Carolina head men’s basketball coach Frank Martin announced Saturday morning that freshman guard TeMarcus Blanton (Locust Grove, Ga./Luella High School) underwent left hip surgery on Friday after suffering an injury during practice this week. Updates on Blanton’s injury will be released when available.
