USC Women Roll To Rocky Top Win

No. 2 South Carolina (+13) claimed a 14-stroke win for its second title of the fall season at this weekend’s Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championships hosted by the University of Tennessee at the Cherokee Country Club. Freshman Nanna Madsen captured medalist’s honors by three strokes at 1-under and junior Mary Fran Hillow carded a program-record 65 in today’s round. Three Gamecocks finished in the top four.

Clemson RB Choice Out For Season

Dabo Swinney said Sunday leading rusher Adam Choice will miss the rest of the season after tearing his ACL on a first quarter run against Boston College Saturday.

The freshman from Thomasville, GA had 50 carries for 218 rushing yards and one touchdown on the season.

Watkins Helps Bills Win, Spiller Hurt

Former Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins caught a 2-yard touchdown with 1 second left to help Buffalo beat Minnesota Sunday 17-16. The rookie first round draft pick had 9 catches, 122 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns on the game.

Former Clemson running back C.J. Spiller was carted off the field in tears after injuring his left shoulder. He reportedly broke his collarbone and will miss the rest of the season.

Branch Injured In Jaguars’ First Win

Former Clemson standout defensive end Andre Branch injured his groin Sunday in the fourth quarter of Jacksonville’s first win of the season, 24-6 over Cleveland.

Branch left the game and did not return. After the game he left the locker room on crutches. No more details on the injury were available Sunday night.

Proveaux Finishes 3rd At U.S. Collegiate

Cody Proveaux shot a three-under-par 69, his eighth under-par round of the fall, and finished third individually to lead Clemson to a 10th place team finish at the U.S. Collegiate at the Golf Club of Georgia on Sunday. The Tigers improved from 14th to 10th with a 284 team score on Sunday, as three Tigers posted under par rounds.

Packers Pound Panthers 38-17

Aaron Rodgers threw for 255 yards and three touchdowns, Randall Cobb torched the Carolina secondary for 121 yards receiving and the Green Bay Packers routed the Carolina Panthers 38-17 on Sunday.
