Spurrier:We Got A Lot Of Ball Left

Steve Spurrier hopes senior leadership will step up for the Gamecocks and lead them to another strong finish.

After a disappointing 3-3 start to the season, South Carolina, the preseason pick to win the SEC East division, returns to action this Saturday against Furman (2-4).

The SEC Network will broadcast the noon game at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Slive Treated For Cancer, Will Retire In 2015

Mike Slive will retire as commissioner of the Southeastern Conference on July 31, 2015, after serving in that position for 13 years, he announced Tuesday. He also stated he is beginning treatment for a recurrence of prostate cancer for which he was treated in the late 1990s.

USC Hoops To Hold Open Practice

The South Carolina men’s basketball team announced today that the squad will hold an open practice on Friday night, Oct. 17, from 6-7 p.m. ET, at the practice facility located on the corner of Blossom and Assembly streets. Admission is free, the practice is open to the public and doors will open at 5:45 p.m. Students should bring their Carolina ID card to receive loyalty points for attending. The team will hold an intra-squad scrimmage beginning just after 6 p.m.
