Spurrier And Garcia Reunite At Media Days

Steve Spurrier couldn’t resist throwing out at least one verbal jab at SEC Media Days Tuesday.

Former Gamecock quarterback turned new media member Stephen Garcia was on the receiving end.

“Did he join the media, or did he join Duck Dynasty?” Spurrier quipped when he saw Garcia Tuesday.

Garcia responded simply, “Good seeing you, Coach.” He went on to ask his former coach a question about the upcoming season for Carolina football.

Spurrier: More To Life Than Winning SEC

Steve Spurrier says there is more to life than winning an SEC championship, especially at South Carolina.

Tuesday at SEC Media Days in Hoover, AL, the Ball Coach took his turn at the microphone without taking any shots at opponents.

Spurrier says most Gamecock fans would take a win against Clemson over winning an SEC championship. Spurrier says he would prefer to win USC’s first ever SEC title.

Steve Spurrier addressed the media Tuesday at SEC Media Days in Hoover, Alabama. The 10th year head coach of the Gamecocks previewed the upcoming season and shared his thoughts on several topics.

Anthony Makes Butkus Award Watch List

Clemson senior linebacker Stephone Anthony was named to the watch list for the Butkus Award and the Lombardi Award on Monday. The Butkus Award is given annually to the top linebacker in college football, while the Lombardi Award goes to the top lineman, offensive or defensive.
