South Carolina football will host the East Carolina Pirates on Saturday, September 6, at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be televised nationally on either ESPN2 or ESPNU, it was announced today.

The Clemson at Georgia football game that will open the season for both teams on August 30 will start at 5:30 p.m. and will be televised by ESPN. The SEC and ESPN made the announcement this afternoon.
South Carolina (42-16) goes into this weekend an overwhelming favorite. The Gamecocks have a 27-game NCAA tournament home winning streak that dates back to 2002. During that time, none of the other three teams in this year’s Columbia regional, #2 seed Maryland (36-21), #3 seed Old Dominion (36-24) and #4 seed Campbell (40-19), has even qualified for the NCAA tournament.

Wednesday night USC baseball announced via Twitter junior Jordan Montgomery will start Friday night’s 7 p.m. game against Campbell. The lefty from Sumter has been absolutely dominant in the NCAA tournament recently. In his last three tourney starts, Montgomery has pitched 24 straight shutout innings, striking out 20 and walking just two.
Baton Rouge big man James Thompson will officially sign with Gamecock basketball Thursday afternoon. His school, Parkview Baptist, made the announcement Wednesday.
