Vandy Evens Up USC Series With 9-3 Win

A four-run first inning and a four-run fifth inning helped lead ninth ranked Vanderbilt to a 9-3 win over eighth ranked South Carolina on Friday evening at Hawkins Field. Vanderbilt is now 40-15 and 17-12 in the SEC with the Gamecocks now 41-14 and 17-12 in league play. The rubber game of the series is scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. ET. It will be televised live on CBS Sports Network and can be heard on the Gamecock IMG Network including flagship station, 107.5 FM, “The Game.”

USC In 4th After NCAA Regional 2nd Round

The fourth-seeded South Carolina men’s golf team will head into the final round of the NCAA Eugene Regional in position to clinch its second-straight NCAA Championship berth after shooting a 293 (+13) on Friday in the second round at Eugene Country Club.

Stephen Behr, Cody Proveaux, Austin Langdale and Carson Young all had rounds of one-over-par 73 on Friday to lead Clemson to a 292 team score and a third-place standing after two rounds of the NCAA Sugar Grove Regional at Rich Harvest Farms Golf Club in Sugar Grove, Ill.

BC Stops Streak, Beats Clemson 3-1

Sophomore lefthander Andrew Chin pitched a complete game two-hitter to lead Boston College to a 3-1 victory over Clemson at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Friday night. The Eagles (22-32, 10-19 ACC) evened the series 1-1 against the Tigers (33-22, 14-14 ACC), who saw their 11-game winning streak over Boston College dating to 2010 come to an end.

USC Softball Shut Out In NCAA Opener

USC softball didn’t start the NCAA softball tournament like it hoped. The Gamecocks garnered just three hits in a 6-0 loss to South Florida in Tallahassee. USC will play the loser of host Florida St. and Fordham in an elimination game of the double elimination NCAA regional Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on ESPN.
