USC Evens Series With UGA Saturday

Sophomore left-hander Jack Wynkoop limited Georgia to just two runs on five hits in six innings of work and was backed by an offense that generated nine hits and nine walks as seventh ranked South Carolina defeated the Bulldogs 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at Foley Field.

Erwin, Tigers Shut Out James Madison 8-0

Sophomore lefthander Zack Erwin tossed a six-hit shutout to lead Clemson to an 8-0 victory over James Madison at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Friday night. The Tigers (26-19) took a 1-0 lead in the two-game series against the Dukes (15-27).

Cabrera, Flores Tied For Wells Fargo Lead

Angel Cabrera and Martin Flores go into the weekend at Charlotte tied for the lead at the Wells Fargo Championship. They are 9-under 135, one shot ahead of Justin Rose, who had a 67. Former Clemson and Spring Valley High standout Jonathan Byrd is -5, tied for ninth.

All SEC Schools Get Early SEC Network Games

The SEC Network, the new national sports network launching August 14 and operated by ESPN, will air a game featuring every football team in the Southeastern Conference within the first four weeks of the 2014 college football season. The first 16 games, released today by the SEC and ESPN, include a home game from all 14 SEC football stadiums. In addition, eight SEC schools will open their 2014 seasons on the network, including the defending SEC Champion, Auburn, and Arkansas in a conference matchup at 4 p.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 30.
