USC Baseball Hosts Wofford Wednesday

South Carolina (35-13) is back in action on Wednesday night returning home to face Wofford (25-24) in a non-conference tilt. First pitch at Carolina Stadium is set for 7 p.m. Live video will be available on the All-Access Channel at GamecocksOnline. The game can also be heard on the Gamecock IMG Network including flagship station, 107.5 FM, “The Game,” with Andy Demetra and Tommy Moody on the call.

Clowney To Appear On Tonight Show Wednesday

Jadeveon Clowney’s big week in the Big Apple has begun. Clowney flew to New York City Tuesday. Clowney is one of 30 NFL prospects who will attend the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night at Radio Music Hall. On Wednesday Clowney is scheduled to make an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Lady Tigers Top Division II Rebounders

Benedict led NCAA Division II in rebounding margin during the 2013-14 season, in the final statistical release by the NCAA. Benedict out-rebounded their opponents by an average of 11.4 per game. Bentley, which won the Division II national championship, was second with a rebound margin of 11.0.

San Fran Shooter Transfers To Clemson

Avry Holmes, a 6-2 guard for the University of San Francisco the past two seasons, has signed an aid agreement to transfer to Clemson. Head Coach Brad Brownell made the announcement Monday. Per NCAA rules, Holmes is required to sit out the 2014-15 season but has two seasons of eligibility remaining, beginning in 2015-16.

Clemson Golf Heads To Illinois Regional

The Tigers received a bid to the NCAA Men’s Golf Tournament for the 33rd consecutive year on Monday. Clemson is one of 14 teams competing at the Illinois Regional (Sugar Grove, Ill.) at Rich Harvest Farms. It is one of six regional sites across the country held May 15-17.

South Carolina Baseball Notebook

South Carolina won one of three games this past weekend at Georgia. The Gamecocks are now 35-13 and 13-11 in the SEC with eight games left in the regular season. South Carolina is third in the SEC East and tied for sixth overall in the league with six conference games remaining.
