Heathwood Hall prep star A’ja Wilson headlined Wednesday night’s McDonald’s All-American girls basketball game at the United Center in Chicago. Wilson scored 10 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and blocked 4 shots, but her East team lost 80-78 to the West.

Gamecocks Go To Arkansas

South Carolina (25-3, 6-3 SEC) continues conference play this week with a three-game series at Arkansas (18-11, 4-5 SEC). First pitch for the opener on Thursday is 8 p.m. ET with the game televised live on ESPNU. Game two of the series is Friday at 7:35 p.m. ET. Saturday’s series finale will be televised on Cox Sports Television and is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. All three games can also be heard on the Gamecock IMG Network including flagship station, 107.5 FM, “The Game.”

Clemson Gets 4-2 Win Against Winthrop

The No. 15 Clemson Tigers scored four runs in the fifth inning to defeat Winthrop 4-2 Wednesday night at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The Tigers (19-9), who won their fifth game in a row, recorded the victory over the Eagles (14-17), led by former Clemson Assistant Coach Tom Riginos (2003-10).

DeShields leads North Carolina past South Carolina

STANFORD, Calif. (AP) — Diamond DeShields escaped two close calls with injury to score 19 points, leading North Carolina one win closer to a sweet reunion with healing coach Sylvia Hatchell by beating top-seeded South Carolina 65-58 in the Stanford Regional semifinals on Sunday night.

NFL Scouts Swarm To USC Pro Day

University of South Carolina football held its annual Pro Timing Day on Wednesday on a picture-perfect day in Columbia. Ten former Gamecocks showed their wares to scouts representing 30 of the 32 teams, including head coaches Bill O’Brien of the Houston Texans and Gus Bradley from the Jacksonville Jaguars, along with 125 credentialed members of the media.
