On Friday, the Greenville Drive and Michelin will join forces to pay tribute to a man that has made the most significant impact on the game of baseball – Jackie Robinson – with the 6th Annual HBCU Classic at Fluor Field. This special game will begin at 7 p.m., when the Benedict College Tigers will take on the Paine College Lions.
South Carolina (28-9, 8-7 SEC) returns to SEC play this weekend with a three-game series at Auburn (21-17, 6-9 SEC). First pitch for the opener is 7 p.m. ET on Friday. Saturday’s game will be televised on CBS Sports Network with a first pitch at 5 p.m. ET. Sunday’s series finale is 2 p.m. ET on CSS. South Carolina head women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley announced that the top recruit in the 2014 class, A’ja Wilson (Columbia, S.C./Heathwood Hall), has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University and play for the Gamecocks. Wilson will have four years of eligibility beginning with the 2014-15 academic year. The addition improved the Gamecocks’ recruiting class ranking to No. 2 in the nation.
