Clemson Gets #3 Seed In NIT

A two-year absence from postseason play ended Sunday when Clemson accepted a bid to compete in the 2014 National Invitation Tournament (NIT). The third-seeded Tigers host No. 6 seed Georgia State on Tuesday in a 9 p.m. game televised by ESPNU. Clemson is returning to the NIT for the first time since the 2006-07 team advanced to the championship game in Madison Square Garden.

Coastal Goes For NCAA Tournament History

Coastal Carolina is one of two NCAA tournament teams from the state of South Carolina this year. The Big South tournament champion Chanticleers are the #16 seed in the East region and will play ACC champion #1 seed Virginia in Raleigh, NC on Friday. A #16 seed has never beaten a #1 seed.

USC Takes Two, Wins Ole Miss Series

Top ranked South Carolina outlasted 12th ranked Ole Miss 3-1 in game two of a doubleheader on Saturday evening to clinch the weekend series in the rubber game at Carolina Stadium. The Gamecocks swept the doubleheader after rallying for a 6-5 win in 10 innings in the first game. South Carolina is 18-1 and 2-1 in the SEC with Ole Miss 17-4 and 1-2 in league play.

Clemson Sweeps Doubleheader, Wins Wake Series

The No. 14 Clemson Tigers totaled 14 hits en route to a 7-4 victory over Wake Forest at Wake Forest Baseball Park in the second game of a doubleheader Saturday. The Tigers (12-6, 5-1 ACC) swept the doubleheader and won the series 2-1 over the Demon Deacons (13-8, 3-3 ACC).

Tigers Even Wake Series With 16-6 Win

Clemson jumped out to a 9-1 lead in the fifth inning and held on for a 16-6 victory over Wake Forest at Wake Forest Baseball Park in the first game of a doubleheader Saturday. The Tigers (11-6, 4-1 ACC) evened the series 1-1 against the Demon Deacons (13-7, 3-2 ACC).

Clemson Loses 63-62 Heartbreaker To Duke

Trailing by as much as 13 in the second half, Clemson rallied to take a lead into the final seconds of the game until Duke’s Rodney Hood made a pair of free throws with 3.8 left to give the Blue Devils a 63-62 victory in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals Friday at the Greensboro Coliseum.
