USC Loses First Series of the Year

Kentucky broke ahead to a two-run lead in the first three innings and held off a late rally by top ranked South Carolina to defeat the Gamecocks 2-1 on Saturday afternoon at Cliff Hagan Stadium to clinch a weekend SEC baseball series.

Kentucky scored nine runs in the first two innings on the way to 13-5 victory over top ranked South Carolina on Friday night at Cliff Hagan Stadium. The series continues on Saturday with first pitch at 2 p.m. The game will be televised on FOX Sports South.

Spurrier’s Donations Reach $1 Million

Head coach Steve Spurrier’s annual donations back to the University of South Carolina have accrued to the $1 million mark as he approaches his 10th year directing the Gamecocks’ football program, according to Jeff Crane, Associate Athletics Director for Development.
