Rushing Court Costs USC $25,000

The Southeastern Conference announced today that the University of South Carolina will be fined $25,000 for a violation of the league’s access to competition area policy due to fans entering the court following its men’s basketball game against Kentucky on Saturday.

Women’s Soccer Leads Clemson In Classroom

Nine of Clemson’s athletic teams and nearly half of all student-athletes exceeded a Fall Semester grade point average of 3.0, according to data released by the University Office of Institutional Research (OIR). As a whole, student-athletes earned a grade point average of 2.88 for the semester.

Alaina Coates Ties SEC Record

South Carolina center Alaina Coates (Irmo, S.C./Dutch Fork) earned her league-record tying fifth SEC Freshman of the Week selection of the season, the league office announced today. Her selection makes her the Gamecock freshman most honored with the award as well.

9th Inning Rally Helps USC Sweep Clemson

Four consecutive two-out hits in the top of the ninth inning led to four runs as third ranked South Carolina rallied in the ninth inning for a 5-3 win vs. 11th ranked Clemson at Doug Kingsmore Stadium to sweep the three-game series against the Tigers. The Gamecocks are now 10-0 on the year with Clemson dropping to 6-4 for the season.
