Montgomery Keeps USC Baseball Undefeated

The fifth-ranked Gamecocks have not allowed a run in 33 straight innings, effectively shutting out their last three opponents as South Carolina defeated Eastern Kentucky 4-0 on Friday afternoon at Carolina Stadium. The Gamecocks are now 5-0 on the year while the Colonels fall to 1-4.

Leggett Sets Mark Against Alma Mater

Junior righthander Daniel Gossett pitched 7.0 strong innings with seven strikeouts to lead #13 Clemson to a 5-2 victory over Maine at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Friday afternoon. The Tigers, who took a 1-0 lead in the series, improved to 3-1 overall, while the Black Bears fell to 1-3. With the win, Jack Leggett recorded his 1,267th career victory, tying him for 10th place with the late Ron Fraser in Division I history. Leggett also reached the top 10 against his alma mater.

Beasley College Football’s 10th Best Player

Vic Beasley is listed as the 10th best player in the nation, third among defensive players by the Sporting News in its Pre-Spring Practice ranking. The rising senior is one of just three 2013 Consensus All-Americans returning for the 2014 season.

Injured Clemson RB Will Miss Spring

Clemson running back Tyshon Dye suffered a torn Achilles tendon during a workout on Friday morning. The redshirt freshman from Elberton, GA will miss spring practice, but Head Coach Dabo Swinney hopes to have him back in time for the fall season.
