Gamecock Baseball Last Week

Gamecocks Get Kentucky Sweep With 3-1 Win

Freshman left-hander Jack Wynkoop hurled a career-high eight innings and allowed just one unearned run and LB Dantzler hit a two-run homer, his team-leading 12th of the season as 14th ranked South Carolina upended 17th ranked Kentucky 3-1 to sweep a three-game SEC series at Carolina Stadium. The Gamecocks are 31-10 and 11-7 in the SEC with Kentucky 24-15 and 7-11 in league play.

Miami Takes Clemson Series With 7-0 Win

Andrew Suarez pitched a six-hit shutout to lead Miami (FL) to a 7-0 win over #12 Clemson in front of 2,793 fans at Alex Rodriguez Park on Sunday afternoon. The Hurricanes, who won the series 2-1, improved to 27-16 overall and 10-11 in the ACC. The Tigers fell to 27-13 overall and 13-8 in ACC play.
