The Tigers, who swept the series 3-0 and won their fifth game in a row, improved to 21-11 overall and 9-6 in the ACC. The Eagles fell to 5-25 overall and 0-14 in ACC play.

Clemson scored four runs in the first inning and cruised to a 9-2 win over Boston College in front of 1,651 fans at Commander Shea Field on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers, who took a 2-0 lead in the series, improved to 20-11 overall and 8-6 in the ACC. The Eagles dropped to 5-24 overall and 0-13 in ACC play.

Gamecocks Saturday Scrimmage Recap

The University of South Carolina football team scrimmaged for 41 plays during the last half of its two-hour practice at Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday morning. Sophomore running back Mike Davis was the star of the scrimmage, carrying four times for 54 yards, including a 29-yard burst on the first play from scrimmage.

USC Tops Tennessee 5-4 In Series Opener

Max Schrock’s one-out RBI double in the top of the ninth inning scored LB Dantzler and helped lift 11th ranked South Carolina to a 5-4 win over Tennessee on Friday evening in the first game of a three-game SEC baseball series at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The Gamecocks improve to 24-7 and 6-4 in the SEC with Tennessee now 13-15 and 3-7 in league play.

USC Assistant Likes Backfield Depth

Gamecock running backs coach Everette Sands said both Brandon Wilds and Mike Davis will get early reps in Saturday morning’s scrimmage. “I have a good feeling we’re going to have good depth,” continued Sands. “Mike and Brandon are both doing a great job.” The unit will be enhanced this fall with the return of Shon Carson, who is spending the spring with the Gamecock baseball team, and highly-touted incoming freshman David Williams.

Future Tiger Makes Cut At LPGA Major

Future Clemson women’s golfer Ashlan Ramsey make the cut by three shots at the Kraft Nabisco Championship in Rancho Mirage, CA on Friday afternoon. The native of Milledgeville, GA, who will be one of the leaders of J.T. Horton’s first Clemson women’s golf teams this coming August shot a second round 75 and stands in 42nd place after 36 holes of the first major of the year on the LPGA Tour.

In his second start of the season, junior Joe Costigan totaled a career-high three RBIs when he capped the Tigers’ six-run seventh inning with a three-run double in Clemson’s 7-5 win over Boston College in front of 1,281 fans at Commander Shea Field on Friday afternoon. The Tigers, who took a 1-0 lead in the series, improved to 19-11 overall and 7-6 in the ACC. The Eagles dropped to 5-23 overall and 0-12 in ACC play.
