Tigers Top Gardner-Webb 4-1

Senior righthander Jonathan Meyer tossed 7.0 strong innings to lead Clemson to a 4-1 win over Gardner-Webb at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Wednesday night. The Tigers improved to 18-11, while the Bulldogs fell to 15-13-1.

Future Tiger to Compete in her First Major

Ashlan Ramsey, a high school senior who signed a national letter of intent with Clemson last fall, will play in the Kraft Nabisco Championship on the LPGA Tour this April 4-7. It is the first of four Majors on the LPGA Tour. Ramsey attends Milledge Academy in Milledgeville, GA and is ranked among the top women’s amateur players in the nation.

Clemson vs. Gardner-Webb Preview

Clemson (17-11) will host Gardner-Webb (15-12-1) on Wednesday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM. The game will be available live via webcast on TigerCast at ClemsonTigers.com. The game will also be broadcast live on the radio by WCCP (104.9 FM) out of Clemson. Gamecocks To Face Furman At Fluor Field Wednesday Night

South Carolina (23-6) is back in action Wednesday night against Furman (16-11) at Fluor Field in Greenville. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. ET and is available on the Gamecock Radio Network from IMG College including flagship station, 107.5 FM, “The Game.” It can also be heard at GamecocksOnline.com on the All Access Channel.

Gamecocks On Major League Rosters

Four former South Carolina Gamecocks are active for the 2013 MLB season. Jackie Bradley Jr. (2009-11) made his debut Monday afternoon for the Boston Red Sox vs. the New York Yankees. Justin Smoak (2006-08) began his fourth season in the big leagues with the Seattle Mariners at Oakland on Monday night. Both Brian Roberts (1999) and Steve Pearce (2004-05) will don the Baltimore Orioles jersey. Their first game was Tuesday at Tampa Bay.

USC Tops CSU 9-5

No. 11 South Carolina tallied 12 hits including a pair of homers from TJ Costen and LB Dantzler as the Gamecocks defeated Charleston Southern 9-5 on Tuesday night in non-conference action at Carolina Stadium. South Carolina improves to 23-6 while the loss drops Charleston Sothern to 11-17.
