LB Dantzler A Candidate For Senior CLASS Award

Senior first baseman LB Dantzler is one of 30 NCAA baseball student-athletes who excel both on and off the field to be selected as a candidate for the 2013 Senior CLASS Award® in collegiate baseball. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition. Saturday South Carolina-Clemson Game To Be Televised

Saturday’s Reedy River Rivalry game at Fluor Field in Greenville between South Carolina and Clemson will be televised on six TV networks in the states of South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia, it was announced on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch for the contest, which is game two of the series, is set for 2 p.m.

Gamecocks Get By Furman 5-2

Freshman left-hander Jack Wynkoop hurled 5.1 scoreless innings in his first career start and seventh ranked South Carolina scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to break a scoreless tie as the Gamecocks defeated Furman 5-2 on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference baseball action at Carolina Stadium. The Gamecocks are now 6-1 on the year with Furman now 5-2 for the season.

Baseball Hosts Furman Today

The Gamecocks’ baseball team will be hosting Furman in a mid-week match up today. Both teams come into the game with a 5-1 record. Carolina swept Albany this weekend while the Paladins got two victories on Saturday, one against Michigan State and the other against Cincinnati.
