Clemson Completes Wright St. Sweep

Scott Firth pitched 8.0 scoreless innings of five-hit ball and the Tigers broke the game open with five two-out runs in the seventh inning in Clemson’s 7-0 win over Wright State in front of 5,054 fans at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers, who swept the series 3-0 and improved to 6-0 all-time against Wright State, upped their record to 5-1 on the season. The Raiders fell to 3-3.

Cardinal Newman Wins SCISA State Title

LB Dantzler tallied a career-high four hits with a three-run homer and a career-high five RBI and junior outfielder Graham Saiko reached base all five times with two run scored as fifth ranked South Carolina defeated Albany 8-3 on Saturday afternoon in the first of a three-game baseball series.

Tigers Take Two With Shutout

Five Tiger pitchers combined to blank Wright State in Clemson’s 6-0 victory in the second game of a doubleheader at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Saturday. The Tigers, who took a 2-0 lead in the series, improved to 4-1 on the season. The Raiders dropped to 3-2.

Gamecocks Lose In OT At Georgia 62-54

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 18 points, Charles Mann added 14 and Georgia beat South Carolina 62-54 in overtime on Saturday. The Bulldogs (13-14, 7-7 SEC) snapped a three-game losing streak. Bruce Ellington finished with 11 points and was the only player to score in double digits for South Carolina (13-14, 3-11).
