9 Tigers In All-Star Games

Nine seniors on the 2012 Clemson football team will play in college football postseason all-star games beginning Saturday, January 19. The Tigers’ 2012 senior class included just 11 scholarship players, and nine of those 11 are in all-star games, the most in Clemson history. In addition, all nine players have already earned their college degrees.

USC Women Win At Coliseum, 66-59 Over LSU

No. 19/18 South Carolina defeated LSU 66-59 Thursday night in SEC women’s basketball action at the Carolina Coliseum. Senior Ieasia Walker netted 24 points to lead all scorers and reach the 1,000-point plateau for her career, while senior Ashley Bruner posted her second double-double of the season, including key points down the stretch. The Gamecocks (15-3, 3-2 SEC) fended off a late run by the Lady Tigers (11-7, 2-3 SEC), but a steal from Walker and steady free throw shooting in the final 2:33 delivered the seven-point victory.

T.J. Johnson Profile

T.J. Johnson came into the season as the leader of the offensive line who didn’t miss a game in two seasons. The senior center will be leaving USC as the career leader in starts at USC. The Aynor native will be playing in the East-West Shrine game on January 19th in Florida.

Adam Yates came into the season as the starting place kicker and the job was his all year. The senior kicker will play in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on January 19th in Los Angeles. Here is a littler more on the Sparks, Maryland native.

Carerra Leads USC To First SEC Win

Behind double-doubles from freshman forward Michael Carrera and senior forward Lakeem Jackson, South Carolina (11-5, 1-2 SEC) defeated LSU (9-5, 0-3 SEC) 82-73 in conference play on Wednesday night. The win was the first SEC win of the Frank Martin era and is the first road win in league play since a 64-56 victory at LSU on Feb. 2, 2011.
