Former Gamecock and Gator assistant coach Charlie Strong led Louisville to the biggest upset in BCS history late Wednesday night with a 33-23 win over Florida in the Sugar Bowl.
The Gamecocks defeated the Michigan Wolverines 33-28 in the Outback Bowl on New Years Day. The Gamecocks played two quarterbacks, Ace Sanders had a high flying day, Bruce Ellington only had two catches but they were as decisive as any catch in the game, and Jadeveon Clowney had a hit hear around the nation. The Gamecocks get their second ever 11 win season with a thrilling 33-28 win over the Michigan Wolverines. Ace Sanders scored three total touchdowns, Bruce Ellington had the final decisive touchdown, and Jadeveon Clowney had the play of the game; getting named player of the game.

Clemson produced season-best offensive numbers in terms of shooting percentage and points in a 92-51 rout of The Citadel on Tuesday, the Tigers’ final non-conference game prior to the start of ACC play. The win improved Clemson to 8-4, while dropping The Citadel to 3-8 on the season.

Dylan Thompson entered the game in the second quarter and his first drive ended in a touchdown to give the Gamecocks a 21-10. Thompson went 4-for-4 on the drive including a 70 yard pass to Nick Jones to set up a four yard touchdown pass to Ace Sanders.
