USC Women’s Soccer Gets Golden Goal

Tenth-seeded South Carolina (7-9-5) defeated seventh-seeded. Arkansas (9-10-1) 3-2 in overtime in first-round SEC Tournament action at the Orange Beach Sportsplex on Monday afternoon. Stevi Parker scored the golden goal in the 94th minute to advance the Gamecocks to the quarterfinals.

Spurrier Jabs Clemson At Lattimore Rally

Spurrier Tells Crowd Lattimore Will Be Back

Steve Spurrier told a crowd of more than a 1,000 that Marcus Lattimore wanted him to relay a message. “The message he gave me was, `I’ll be back,”’ Spurrier said. “So he’s coming back.” Spurrier’s speech at a 21st birthday and get well celebration for Lattimore included a shot at Clemson. Clemson Hires Radakovich As New A.D.

Georgia Tech athletic director Dan Radakovich has been hired as Clemson’s AD. Clemson President James F. Barker said Monday that Radakovich was the right person to build on the work done by Terry Don Phillips, who announced his retirement in August.

Clowney Named Bednarik Award Semifinalist

University of South Carolina sophomore defensive end Jadeveon Clowney has been named one of 16 national semifinalists for the 18th Chuck Bednarik Award presented by Cracker Barrel for the Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year, as selected by the Maxwell Football Club National Selection Committee.
