Teams Switch Roles In SEC Clash

Florida and Tennessee meet up in a top-25 SEC battle Saturday. Both teams have gotten off to 2-0 starts in different ways. No. 18 Florida is running the ball early and often, a slow-it-down, ground-and-pound attack featuring senior Mike Gillislee. No. 23 Tennessee is throwing it all over the field, relying on junior Tyler Bray’s accuracy, arm strength and decision-making skills to direct an up-tempo, often no-huddle, offense.

Defensive Expectations Against UAB

There has been a lot of talk this week about the Gamecocks offense: Connor Shaw’s injury, Dylan Thompson’s great start against ECU, and even head coach Steve Spurrier saying the offense could have played better. USC Baseball Starts Fall Practice Friday

The South Carolina baseball team is set to begin fall team practice on Friday and will have scrimmages open to the public on Saturday and Sunday at Carolina Stadium. Saturday’s scrimmage is scheduled for Noon with first pitch on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

USC Hoops Posts Non-Conference Schedule

The South Carolina men’s basketball staff, led by first-year head coach Frank Martin, released its non-conference schedule for the 2012-13 season on Wednesday. The slate features 10 home dates, including one exhibition, to be played at Colonial Life Arena, two trips to New York City and an international visit to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, to highlight the lineup.
