2nd-year Vanderbilt Head Football Coach James Franklin is trying to establish new traditions in Nashville. He is requiring each player to know, and sing, the fight song. The Commodores join the student section singing the alma mater, and flashing the thumb and first two fingers for “V-U” is their own high five.
USC’s Ward Expecting Big Things From Defense
USC defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward is expecting big games from his two standout defensive ends, senior Devin Taylor and sophomore Jadeveon Clowney. “If they are as good as advertised, then they will have a big ballgame. I’ve talked to Jadeveon about it and I’ve talked to Devin about it. If we’ve got big-time players, then they need to play big time in big-time games. And this is a big-time game.”
