Clemson Continues Charleston Mastery

Behind 13 hits and 7.0 scoreless innings pitched from starter Kevin Pohle, Clemson defeated College of Charleston 12-3 in front of 4,382 fans at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Sunday night. The Tigers, who took a 2-0 series lead, improved to 28-19, while the Cougars dropped to 31-15. Clemson also upped its all-time record against College of Charleston to 23-0.

USC Edges Arkansas 10-7, Takes Series

Scoreless through sixth innings, third ranked South Carolina erupted for a combined 10 runs in the seventh and eighth innings and held on for a 10-7 victory over 13th ranked Arkansas on Sunday afternoon to win the rubber game of the three-game series, the sixth consecutive series victory for the Gamecocks. South Carolina is now 36-12 and 16-8 in the SEC, tied for first place with LSU and currently one game ahead of Kentucky for first place in the Eastern Division. Arkansas falls to 34-15 and 12-12 in the SEC.

USC’s Win Streak Ends With 7-6 Loss At Arkansas

A two-run sixth inning for the Razorbacks and an insurance run in the eighth inning lifted Arkansas to a 7-6 win over the Gamecocks on Saturday afternoon at Baum Stadium. The loss snaps an eight-game winning streak for Carolina as well as a 12-game win streak in the league. Tiger Misses Cut In Charlotte

Coming off his worst performance as a pro at the Masters, Tiger Woods didn’t make a birdie on any of the par 5s on another day of low scoring and wound up with a 1-over 73 that made it all but certain he would miss the cut.

Gamecocks Win 7th Straight, 2-1 Over Davidson

Five Gamecock pitchers combined to limit Davidson to one run on five hits as third ranked South Carolina improved to 34-11 on the year with a 2-1 victory over the Wildcats (16-26) on Wednesday night at Carolina Stadium. Freshman first baseman Kyle Martin drove in the winning run in the fourth inning to give the Gamecocks the victory and Evan Marzilli added a sacrifice fly.
