The battle for the SEC baseball crown has come down to the final weekend of the regular season with Florida, South Carolina and Vanderbilt vying for the title.
The trio are tied with 20-7 league records with their eyes on the top seed in the Southeastern Conference tournament next week.

Tigers Entertain During Rain Delay

Will Lamb had five of the Tigers’ season-high 23 hits in #15 Clemson’s 19-0 victory over Davidson at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Tuesday night. In their last regular-season home game, the Tigers improved to 37-16 on the season. The Wildcats ended their season with an 18-30 record.

Cubs Demote Clemson’s Colvin

The Cubs are giving outfielder Tyler Colvin a chance to try to work out of his hitting funk in the minor leagues.

Chicago optioned the struggling outfielder to triple-A Iowa on Tuesday before the second game of a series against the Cincinnati Reds. The Cubs called up outfielder Tony Campana to take his spot. They also swapped relievers, replacing Marcos Mateo with Scott Maine.

USC Finishes Home Schedule With 9-5 Win

Second ranked South Carolina batted around in the fifth inning to score five times on the way to a 9-5 victory over UNC Asheville on Tuesday evening at Carolina Stadium in non-conference action. South Carolina is now 42-11 on the year with the loss dropping Asheville to 15-34 for the season.

Irmo Soccer Stays Perfect

After sitting through an hour rain delay and playing through rain in the first half Tuesday night, Irmo beat J.L. Mann 2-1 to advance to Saturday’s class AAAA state championship game.
