An Orangeburg man was sentenced to more than three years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute marijuana, said the Justice Department.
Claflin University junior guard Lauren Scott received an honor on Monday.
“Every student on this campus knows that this is a gun-free campus,” Conyers said. “Every student knows that if they are caught with a weapon, they will not sleep in their bed that night.”
According to Claflin University the school’s campus went on lockdown after a shooting incident at SC State University.
The Orangeburg Department of Public Safety is asking for the public’s help finding a missing 38-year-old woman.
Vice President Kamala Harris will be in Orangeburg on Friday.
Claflin University was awarded a grant to help the school establish a Humanities Hub, said university officials.
