The bills being discussed Thursday by the Senate Medical Affairs Committee would ban trans-related healthcare for minors and prohibit trans people from changing their gender on their birth certificate.
“It was defeated six times last year. We fully expect it to be defeated this year,” Beaach-Ferrara said.
President Joe Biden has signed an executive order revoking a Pentagon policy that largely barred transgender individuals from joining the military.
