Uber riders and drivers can also leave their masks at home. The ride-service company announced facial coverings are no longer mandatory in their vehicles. Lyft also suspended their mask requirements.
A South Carolina mom is demanding answers tonight. Ciaya Whetstone, a former University of New Orleans student, died nearly two weeks ago after an Uber driver dropped her off at a hospital. Whetstone’s family says authorities have not told them anything, and that Uber driver has not contacted them.
The goal of the new feature is to offer riders a better understanding of their current rating and to incentivize good behavior during rides.
