Natasha Warren Murder: Two Years Later

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) – Delores Warren, mother of slain 24-year-old Natasha Warren, is hopeful about new details in her daughter’s murder case. The new lead involves a new surveillance video image and a new homicide detective assigned to the case.

Still, family members say, two years later, their nightmare is far from over.

“Please, so I can get a little more sleep at night,” sobbed Delores Warren at a press conference Tuesday.  “I don’t know how much more I can take.”

Delores Warren stood with family members Tuesday, two years ago to the day that Natasha Warren’s body was discovered on a Columbia interstate. The young mother left behind two boys.

“Them little children is hurting for their mother, so is my family,” said the victim’s grandmother, Dorothy Warren.  “We need closure.”

Richland County authorities hope the surveillance image of a man seen in the Sunoco gas station at I-26 and Bush River Rd. in Columbia, the same store where Warren was last seen before her death, man has information that could provide that closure.

Re-released surveillance video at the convenience store shows a white male in a striped shirt. Police say he entered the store several times the night Natasha Warren was last seen. She is seen in the video wearing a white T-shirt and jeans.  Police say the man may have seen someone with Warren, as she searched for help with a broken down car. Police stress the man is not a suspect, or a person of interest, but they do want to hear from him.

“He told a couple of the store clerks that he was a bounty hunter and showed them a picture of the couple he was looking for that had jumped bail.  So, we need to locate him.  He may be a potential witness for us,” said Captain Stan Smith with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

Delores Warren hopes the potential witness finally leads investigators to her daughter’s murderer.  “It’s time for this to come to an end,” says Warren.

Billboards with Natasha Warren’s picture and CrimeStoppers information are back on display on area roadways.
