Governor’s School begins science camp session

HARTSVILLE, S.C. (AP) — The Governor’s School for Science & Mathematics is welcoming students from around the state for a summer science program.

The school says rising eighth, ninth and 10th graders from across South Carolina are coming to its Hartsville campus Sunday for a weeklong science camp.

Campers are conducting interactive experiments in state-of-the-art labs and exploring science outside of the classroom through field trips and other hands-on activities.

Popular courses include LEGO robotics, an intro to Web design and wildlife photography.

The week wraps up with a dance party June 25. A second session runs June 26 through July 2.
