Marlin Roberts was arrested in connection with an incident that happened on Wednesday morning at Spring Valley High School.

On November 4, around 11 a.m., the school resource officer was notified of an incident involving a teacher and a 15-year-old student at the school.

The SRO learned that Roberts began to horseplay with the student.

During the horse playing, deputies say the student jokingly attempted a karate-style kick at Roberts and fell to the floor.

Then Roberts allegedly grabbed the student by the foot dragging her across the classroom floor.

Deputies say the student sustained an abrasion from being dragged across the floor.

The student and her parents reported the incident.

Roberts was detained and admitted to the incident.

He was placed under arrest and charged with assault and battery (3rd degree).

Additionally, he was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
