SC man killed while walking on US 17

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina troopers say a 24-year-old man was struck and killed near Georgetown while walking on U.S. 17.

The Morning News of Florence reports the Georgetown man was hit by a Chevrolet Trail Blazer about 12:20 a.m. Sunday.

Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins says the driver won’t be charged because the pedestrian was walking in the roadway. He says the investigation continues.
