Company plans to add 150 jobs at Duncan auto plant
DUNCAN, S.C. (AP) — Draexlmaier Automotive of America says it will create 150 new jobs over the next five years as it expands its plant in Spartanburg County.
The company said Wednesday it will spend $22 million to expand its plant in Duncan.
The expansion will allow Draexlmaier to increase production by more than a third and to use the latest technology to make vehicle interiors and components, including instrument panels, center consoles and door panels.
Customers in North America include BMW, General Motors/Cadillac and Volkswagen.
The company opened the plant in 1998 and has been expanded twice since then.
The company plans to begin hiring next month.
