9th Inning Fireworks Get Blowfish Walkoff Win

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO) — Rain and the Florence Red Wolves try to spoil a spirited 4th of July in Columbia. Neither one could keep the Capital City Stadium crowd from celebrating. Reggie Weatherford’s bases loaded, 2-out walk-off single capped a 3-run 9th inning rally that gave the Columbia Blowfish a 7-6 win against Florence Monday night. Zack Smith’s second home run of the game earlier in the 9th tied the game at 6. A light drizzle that started in the top of the 9th inning did not gather enough strength to keep a third straight night of fireworks at Capital City Stadium from going off without a hitch.
