Woman killed in front of children at Union park
UNION, S.C. (AP) — Authorities say a man shot a woman to death then killed himself in front of a group of children at a Union park for an outing.
Police say 21-year-old Rosemary Lee was killed around 1 p.m. Tuesday as she ate at a picnic at Foster Park with her family.
Investigators say 34-year-old Kerry Brown shot Lee several times, then shot himself.
Police say a group of children from the Fairfield County Recreation Department were at the park and saw the shooting. They were not injured, but are being offered counseling.
Investigators say they are still trying to determine the relationship between Brown and Lee and what led to the shooting.
