Charleston prepares for Operation Move Out
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Charleston is mobilizing for Operation Move Out.
City officials say most of the leases for rental property in the downtown Charleston area expire at the end of July. And that usually results in piles of trash and discarded household goods on streets and sidewalks.
To deal with the trash, the downtown area has been divided into three zones.
On Saturday, crews consisting of a team leader, a police officer and code enforcement officers will patrol the zones with a claw machine and two trash trucks. The teams pick up the trash through 5 p.m.
