Investigators find burned-out car of slain teen

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) — Investigators say they have determined a car found burned last weekend on a Greenville street belonged to a Ridgeland teen who was found slain in his Spartanburg apartment.

Spartanburg County deputies said Friday they are looking for anyone who might have seen DeAndre Fulton-Smith’s 2011 light blue Toyota Camry between the afternoon of July 22 and early morning July 23.

Investigators are also checking area gas stations to see if anyone saw someone in the car buy gasoline to burn the vehicle.

Fulton-Smith was found dead Monday after an employee at his apartment complex entered his home to check on him at his mother’s request.

Authorities say the 19-year-old was studying business at Spartanburg Community College.
